Cleveland Browns history dates back to 1940

Copyright (c) 2010 Matthew Love

As a participant in professional football since 1946 Cleveland Browns story is unique and not without controversy. Cleveland has been without a team since 1996-1999, due to movement Cleveland Art Modell Baltimore. Cleveland Browns history began as a member of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC), but joined the NFL when the league disbanded in 1950. Browns won eight championships, including all titles AAFC 1946-1950, and four in the 60s, before the AFL and NFL merged in a league. The 40 and 60 have been a great moment in the history of the Cleveland Browns, without But since the merger, the Browns have not played in a championship game, nor have they made a Super Bowl.

An interesting aspect of the history of the Browns Cleveland is the process we have lived to be identified. Paul Brown was his first coach, general manager and vice president when they were created under the CAA. With a team name contest was held, the team was named after him. Ohio People and Paul was professional and college sports, so that people felt it was a name appropriate. However, Brown first selection refused and decided to go with the name of Panthers, until a local businessman told the team he owned the rights to the name of the previous attempt to form a new team in Cleveland. At this point, Brown felt he had no choice but to use the popular vote, the appointment of team Cleveland Browns.

Paul Brown had all the right connections to build a winning team during their training and management responsibilities began. With successfully building a championship team in 1948 was the record for the season to be undefeated and untied resources. The team received strong support from its inception, with its involvement in its first season average was 57,000 per game. A remarkable achievement and an amazing part of the history of the Cleveland Browns, because only one year before the Cleveland Rams were transferred to Los Angeles after losing money and lack of community support. After 1949 and many other problems that have plagued the league, the domination of the Browns of the AAFC partly contributed to its demise. The NFL has committed to having three teams from the AAFC, the Browns of acquisition was the most attractive.

The Browns are down quickly in the NFL, his first years, made an appearance in the playoffs of the NFL, to rise above analysts' expectations. The following year was very good as well as many years during the 1950s and 60s. In 1961, Art Modell bought the Cleveland Browns Paul Brown. Finally, Paul went to buy a Cincinnati franchise, which was the start of the Bengals franchise. The rivalry between Paul Brown and Art Modell was almost instantaneous, and It was no secret to anyone involved in professional football. But despite the controversy, the Browns continued to do so that the decade 1970. Cleveland Browns history took a turn for the worse after the NFL merged with the AFL in 1970, the Browns had dominated ended almost as quickly as it started.

The Browns fought between 1971 and 1984, a spiral in its ranking of the NFL. They left many staff members including coaches and players during that time, but nothing seemed to shake the Browns vicious cycle of losing, often leaving nearby park. However, during the 1980s, Bernie Kosar Browns acquired by the University of Miami. Slow to begin, Kosar learned through experience after taking over from Gary Danielson midterm season. The Browns Cleveland won four of six games that Kosar began during his first season. The other 80 and 90, the Browns have not done much notable. There were some ups and downs, but never seemed able to win when you have, leaving without even an invitation to the Super Bowl in its 50 year history. An important event in the history of Cleveland Browns came in 1996, the team from Art Modell's offers Baltimore, but was forced to leave the uniform, the name and rights to the computer, which basically left him to create a new brand name and franchise players in Baltimore.

The new Cleveland Browns have been around since 1999 and have struggled since then. In As positive note, the Browns have some of the most devoted and loyal fans in the NFL in football. Who has not heard of the "Dog Pound"? In addition part, the resurgence of Carson Palmer could be the ticket to the big game have expected.
