Mexico's Tourism Sector "sports" an active edge
The figures show that income and sports fans are increasingly traveling to Mexico to get your heart pumping and muscles moving. Both amateur and professional athletes who contribute to the continued expansion of Mexico segment sports tourism.
Many athletes receive Mexico's natural beauty and unique background, a fact not gone unnoticed by professional sporting event planners. Mexico has recently hosted several high profile international events sports, including Rip Curl Pro Search surfing event, part of the Association of Surfing Professionals Men's World Championship Tour last June, and the Champions League in 2006 PGA Tour Puerto Vallarta Blue Agave Golf Classic in March. Upcoming Events include the International Year of the Mexico City Marathon in August.
Amateur athletes and sports fans are also helping to stimulate sports sector growth in Mexico. 2005 that number by the robust, with sports activities pumping about 1.27 billion dollars in the national economy. predicts bright future for sports tourism
The growing popularity of sports Mexico echoes the evolution of tourist traveling worldwide. The World Tourism Organization said that sports tourism will be the second largest travel segment in 2020.
Sports Travel bright future recently prompted Mexico Tourism Secretary Rodolfo Elizondo to highlight the importance to develop this segment during a conference of national sports tourism.
"Sports tourism plays an important role in the evolution Tourism Industry in Mexico. As we continue to improve tourism infrastructure and offers sports, both local and regional level, the position Mexico as a destination Sports Tourism is consolidated, more jobs will be generated and attract investors, "he said.
Elizondo came to mention that the active support tourism sector of Mexico, the sport is part of the strategy of diversification of the rural tourism Sectur beyond their already successful products and the sun and sand, nature tourism and cultural tourism, among others.
