NFL Predictions: Buffalo Bills 2007 Preview
The Bills finished 7-9 last season, losing five games by three points or less. Young Buffalo talents like WR Lee Evans, QB JP Losman and SS Donte Whitner. However, they have lost much of its old town, CB Nate Clements, including MLB London Fletcher-Baker, Takeo Spikes RB Willis McGahee and VMS. So where does that put Buffalo in 2007?
OFFENSE
JP Losman QB has a strong arm, capable of all the throws. He is adept at avoiding the rush and can make plays on the run. But he is still young and needs to work on the recognition of collateral and not a single receptor blockade. Losman also needs to learn how to throw the ball away and not forcing shots.
In the corridor, Willis McGahee is off to Baltimore. Enter rookie first-round draft pick Marshawn Lynch. Lynch has a great mix of size (5-11, 215), speed and power. He was solid in pass protection and can also outdoor play as a receiver. Lynch is difficult and rarely goes down on first contact.
Lee Evans is launching the individual's body home. Evans is a recipient of great game that caught six passes for 40 yards or more in '06. He has great speed and is deadly on a road of dual circulation. Peerless Price, Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish, someone has to maintain a constant speed to meet Evans doubles teams. TE Robert Royal set career receptions record (23) and yards (233) in '06.
The Bills are hoping they have improved or-according to Derrick Dockery additions to the custody and facing Langston Walker. LT Peters Jason is a player in place, forming a strong team with the left Dockery. Duke Preston started the second half of '06 to the position of right guard, but many improvements are needed yes he keeping the starting job. Marvin Fowler Center is a bit too small and outmuscled by large tackles.
DEFENSE
This line Pro-Bowl right end Aaron Schobel recorded a career-high 14 sacks last season. Chris Kelsay and Ryan Denney complete a hardline aggressive front. Hargrove Tripplett Anthony and Larry also see extensive playing time at forward.
This unit was a big hit when he lost Fletcher-Baker and points. Second Round Paul Posluszny will the average man. He is smart, fast and can make plays in the field. Angelo Crowell will move on the strong side, which must be adapted to their abilities. Keith Ellison replace Crowell on the weak side.
The greatly missed Bills CB Nate Clements. Terrence McGee is now the number one corner. 2006 Third Round Ashton Youboty will be intensified. He played three games this season finally, but it is a good athlete, whose coverage is expected to improve skills. Kiwaukee Thomas, the corner nickel last year, will also have to improve.
The Bills started two rookie safeties last season, Whitner Donte Whitner and Ko Simpson is a physical execution of the man Simpson stopper and is covered in depth with great ball skills.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT
Pro Bowl kicker Brian Moorman is phenomenal. It makes a great hang time and is an excellent kicker direction. Kicker Rian Lindell, the most accurate kicker in Bills history, came at 23-25 FG attempts last season and has made all 224 of his career PAT attempts. McGee finished with a robust 26.1-yard kickoff return. Parrish finished third in the league with an average yield of a clearance of 11.4 meters.
FORECAST
The Bills are not made the playoffs since '99. This series does not end this year. Losman is still a work in progress, as is the o-line. And Lynch must show that he is the real deal. The defense also stepped back. This team has good young talent but we need more time to mature. Expect a 5-11 last record in the AFC East.
